I am happy After 5 years and a half of studies, I graduated on April 10, 2008. Now I’m a doctor in Electronic Engineering, even though I actually don’t feel any change… maybe in the next days I’ll become more aware of the current status of things. Oh oh wait, I forgot to say that I graduated summa cum laude.

If you really want to know, the title of my thesis was “Linearization of Dual Band PAs trough means of digital predistortion” (the actual title was in Italian). In short, I proposed a nove method of digital predistortion who works with dual band amplifiers. The problem is not trivial, because in multi-band operation nonlinear devices behave quite bad in respect to single band scenarios. The key issue is the interaction between different signals, also known as cross-distortion. Well, the method consider this additive distortion and applies a predistortion to any baseband channel (actually, DP is applied once at intermediate frequency).

Now stop with the boring things. Two days after my graduation, together with another engineer, we gave a great party with lots of good wine and food. I can’t show any photos otherwise I probably won’t find a work before 2060 (how many smiles am I putting here? :)) Ok ok, just a photo taken right after the defense of the thesis:
